We collect as little as we can. This policy explains what Tau Publishing, LLC (“we”), publisher of Home and Hearth Baker, collects and why.
The program
Everything you enter in Home and Hearth Baker, such as recipes, customers, orders and records, stays in a file on your own computer. We don't collect it and can't see it. The program has no account and no tracking.
The program connects to the internet only when you check for updates. It then downloads the list of updates and sends nothing about you or your business. Like any download, the server that holds the update files sees your computer's internet address.
This website
You can use this website without giving us any information. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If you arrive through an affiliate's link, your browser keeps that affiliate's code for 60 days, and when you check out we record the code, the item and the time (and PayPal's transaction number, if PayPal sends it back) so we can pay the affiliate. It identifies the affiliate, not you. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles the basic technical details of each visit, such as your internet address and browser, to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks.
When you buy
Payment for the program and the book is handled by PayPal under its own privacy policy. PayPal shares your name and email address with us so we can send your license key, and for the book your shipping address so we can mail it. PayPal's buttons load from PayPal.
We use this information only to fill your order, send your license key, answer your questions and keep the records the law requires. We never see your full card number, and we don't sell or rent your information.
If you write to us, we use your email only to answer you. If you join our email list, we send occasional news about the program, the book and changes to Cottage Food regulations. The list is kept by our email service, Kit. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Children
The program and this site are for adults running a business. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Your choices
You can ask what information we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to support@HomeandHearthBaker.com. We'll keep only what the law requires us to keep, such as sales records.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
